Celebrity City Chorus has a wonderful history. We have been educating and entertaining in the Las Vegas Area since we were established in 1962. We have over 90 members, ranging in age from 16 to 80, in occupations from corporate executive to housewife to teacher. Some of our performers are even beginning to make membership a family tradition, by recruiting their daughters and granddaughters! We've come a long way and our journey has many interesting highlights.
Each spring we compete with other Region #11 choruses, and in 2002, 2004 and 2006 we had the honor of bringing home the 1st place medal! As Regional Champions, we represented our Region in the International Competition in Phoenix, AZ, in September of 2003 and came in 12th place! Continuing our quest as Regional Champs, we were excited to take home the 8th place medal at International Competition held in October 2005. In March 2006, we once again took 1st place Region 11 honors, and returned in October from International Competition in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, placing in the top 25 choruses in the world. We work with nationally recognized coaches in preparation for these competitions.
In addition, we perform throughout the community. During past years our performances have included a fund-raiser for the Children's Miracle Network, Ronald McDonald House, various holiday presentations at local casinos and community centers, singing our National Anthem at a Las Vegas 51's baseball game, and various performances throughout the Valley in remembrance of September 11.
