Celebrity City Chorus has a wonderful history. Since our charter with Sweet Adelines International in 1962, we have been regularly educating and entertaining in the Las Vegas area.
In 2012, we celebrated our 50th Anniversary in the Vegas Arts community, receiving recognition from Mayor Goodman and Governor Sandoval.
Our members have ranged in age from 15 to 80+, in occupations from corporate executive to housewife, teacher, health care workers and more! Some of our performers have even made membership a family tradition, by recruiting sisters, mothers, daughters and granddaughters!
Each spring we compete with other Region 11 choruses, and in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2010 and 2013, we had the honor of bringing home the 1st place medal! As Regional Champions, we represented our Region in the International Competition in 2003 and came in 12th place! Continuing our quest as Regional Champs, we were excited to take home the 8th place medal in 2005. We also placed in the top 30 choruses (of over 600 in the world) in 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2014.
We have had the opportunity to work with nationally recognized SAI coaches in preparation for these competitions, including: Tony DeRosa, Bobbette Gantz, Laura Pallas, Pam Pieson, Dale Syverson, Lori Lyford, Cyndi Hansen, Betty Clipman, Peggy Gram and more recently, Brent Graham and Theresa Weatherbee.
In addition, we have had to privilege to perform throughout the community for fund-raisers for the Children's Miracle Network and Ronald McDonald House. Performing for the fire station remembrance of September 11th was especially memorable. We also do various holiday presentations at local casinos and community centers, singing our National Anthem at a Las Vegas 51's baseball game several Wranglers' hockey games, UNLV Rebel events, along with various performances throughout the Valley!
